Worry Free Policy
The Motability is a scheme which allows disabled people to lease a car, powered wheelchair or scooter by using their government-funded mobility allowances. Customers exchange their allowance for a worry-free mobility package, including:
• Car, powered wheelchair or scooter
• Insurance, Breakdown cover and personal accident cover for named drivers and passengers
• Window and windscreen replacement at no extra cost
• Servicing, maintenance and repairs and Tyres
• Adaptations and wheelchair accessible vehicles
The Motability Scheme is available for anyone who receives Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance or War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement and has at least 12 months' award length remaining when they apply.
Many customers prefer to buy their own car; this is where the Motability scheme offers the Hire Purchase lease. In this scheme you negotiate the actual purchase price with your Ford Motability dealer at the beginning of the term and then use your allowance to finance the balance.
Also with the Hire Purchase option, customers can take advantage of any discounts or promotions being run by Ford when you sign for your new vehicle. The Motability dealer will make all the arrangements to transfer the allowance. Like any other private car, you will need to organise the insurance, breakdown cover, tax discs, servicing and repairs.
