Stop Hate UK and People with Disabilities
Hate Crime and people with disabilities
Hate Crime is defined as hostility, prejudice, harassment, intimidation or hatred via verbal abuse, bullying and harassment, spitting and physical attacks, damage to property, graffiti, and written notes, emails and text messages, internet hate crime.
Of all the groups who suffer hate crime e.g. disability, gender identity, race, religion or belief, and sexual orientation, it is people with disabilities who very rarely report it to the police. There are various reasons why people with disabilities do not report Hate Crimes to the police. Perhaps the main reason being that people with disabilities experience bullying and taunts on a daily basis throughout their lives. Living in fear is unacceptable and it's time to say enough is enough!
If you wish to change your life and make a difference in your community - report Hate Crime.
